We have had lots of people ask us what the difference is with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S cases, so we have put this guide together for you.

The only difference with the iPhone 4 and 4S is the mute and volume button positions. The mute button has moved just over 2mm down the phone. The volume buttons have moved a fraction of a millimetre.

If you take a look at the photo below we have lined up several different cases from SGP, ION Factory and Sena alongside a naked iPhone 4 and 4S - you can see that the different positions of the buttons in each case

Here is how the cases have been affected:

SGP iPhone Cases - you can see that the hole for the mute button is quite small so the mute button sits at the bottom of the hole. The volume buttons sit almost perfectly inside the case - they also work perfectly in the case. We have tested the SGP cases on an iPhone 4S and it works perfectly. However aesthetically you may feel that the slight difference in the alignment of the mute button spoils the look of the case. Also we have checked out the SGP website and see that they are showing photo's of the iPhone 4S cases with the mute buttons lining up correctly. These are photos of the iPhone 4 and not iPhone 4S and the cases are the same cases!!

ION Factory and More Thing Cases - the moulding on these cases have large cut outs for the buttons so there are no issues whatsoever using these cases on your iPhone 4S

Sena Cases - all the Sena iPhone 4 cases fit the iPhone 4S perfectly as the mute button is outside the leather of the case and the volume button hole is big enough to accommodate it very small position change.

So we think that Sena, ION Factory and More Thing are thanking their lucky stars that they don't have to change their manufacturing processes for the new iPhone 4S. However we feel SGP will have to make some changes if they want their cases to be 100% aesthetically pleasing to the discerning iPhone 4S user.
